Former marine Kesuan Kedron Sykes, 27, has been sentenced to death for the 2008 slayings of U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Jan Pietrzak, 24, and his bride Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak, 26, KTLA reports.

The couple had only been married for 68 days when they were bound and gagged, then shot in the head execution-style after Sykes and accomplices Kevin Cox (who received life without possibility of parole), Emrys John and Tyrone Miller (who both received the death penalty in 2013) first knocked on the door, then pushed their way inside of their home to rob them.

Jenkins-Pietrzak was raped before her murder and the house was set on fire to destroy evidence.

Pietrzak was an Iraq war veteran stationed at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego. Jenkins-Pietrzak was an infant care counselor.

All of the convicted men had once worked with Pietrzak at Camp Pendleton.
