First time nominee Lupita Nyong’o won the Academy Award for “Best Supporting Actress” for her role in “12 Years A Slave.” Lupita whisked to the Oscars stage carrying her powder blue Prada gown and gracefully accepted her golden statue. Lupita delivered a stellar performance in the Steve McQueen-directed film and her award case now has the ultimate trophy.

The Kenyan actress glowed as she thanked her cast mate Chiwetel Ejioforfor his courageousness and teared up while thanking her younger brother who attended the ceremony with her.
