During Empire’s press tour at TCA, journalists got a little tea on what viewers can expect to come as the season progresses. Big bad mama Cookie (Henson) will be get some romance and it may not be from Lucious (Howard)! According to showrunner Ilene Chaiken, Cookie’s going to be getting some lovin’ more than once! Child, ya’ll know Lucious won’t be ready for that! While Cookie’s getting her back cracked, she also will be figuring out if she still wants Lucious or ready to move on. According to Daniels:

She’s in love with him. What do you do when you go to jail… This is real. This has happened… What happens when you’re in jail for 10, 15 years? What happens to that relationship?

Cookie know she still love that no good Lucious!

Daniels also revealed homophobia in the black community will be explored more. Daniels stated:

I wanted to blow the lid off the door on homophobia in my community

Meanwhile, what exactly is Cookie’s motivation for returning to the family business, besides getting a slice of the company she did 17 years in prison for? Last episode, viewers were stunned (as was I!) to find out the no-nonsense matriarch was working for the feds! Henson stated love was the driving factor for her alter ego. Henson explained:

Everything she does is for her boys, is for her family.
