In Monday interview with a Dallas-Ft. Worth news station, Jean Delance, a high school junior, called the video “disturbing” and said he wouldn’t want his children to go there. “Very uneducated people,” said the 6’5”, 270 pound tackle out of Texas. “I wouldn’t want my son or child to go there or to anywhere like that. It was just very disturbing to me. I didn’t like it.”

Delance announced his decommitment decision on Twitter today, first saying he was “reopening his recruitment due to personal reasons”:

USA Today High School reports that in addition to the Oklahoma, Delance also has offers from LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Auburn. Today, Delance also posted a Twitter message saying he got an offer from the University of Alabama…not really known as a bastion of racial harmony, and reportedly where Sigma Alpha Epsilon was founded, but hey.

But last week, Delace was all good with the Sooners.

Maybe too little too late. Although HuffPo reports that the Oklahoma athletic department—including athletes and coaches—held a demonstration in protest of the video Monday.

Oklahoma’s president, David Boren, said in a statement that the school had “severed” all ties to Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the largest fraternity in North America. “There must be zero tolerance for racism everywhere in our nation,” wrote Broren.
