Pastor Creflo Dollar found himself in a bit of hot water when, a crowdfunding page on his church’s web site asked his congregation to donate for a $65 million private jet. Yesterday social media users were outraged the televangelist, who is known for being a “prosperity preacher” at the World Changers Church International based in College Park, Ga requested 200,000 of his followers to fork over $300 for what Creflo Dollar Ministries web site called, “Project G650.”

In a 5 minute video, the church discussed the need for airplane to be purchased, after Dollar was involved in a incident where the current jet’s engine failed while on his way to Australia. The 30-year-old plane landed safely and no one was injured. Later in the video, it outlined another trip where Dollar, his wife Taffi and their three daughters faced another mechanical issue with the jet, which skidded off the runway in London. All on board were unharmed. The video implored the need for Dollar to obtain and new jet in order to help spread his teachings around the globe. The video stated:

The mission of Project G650 is to acquire a Gulfstream G650 airplane so that Pastors Creflo and Taffi and World Changers Church International can continue to blanket the globe with the Gospel of grace. We are believing for 200,000 people to give contributions of 300 US dollars or more to turn this dream into a reality — and allow us to retire the aircraft that served us well for many years.

Is the good pastor banned from JetBlue or Delta? Did he boycott AirTran, we know American Airlines is still in business, why can’t he fly with them!? The Gulfstream G650 Dollar is interested in,  seats 14 passengers and flies from New York to Los Angeles in 2½- hours. On the web site it is boasted as, the “biggest, fastest, most luxurious, longest range and most technologically advanced jet — by far,” and should be noted has a wait list for billionaires. Once word go out about Dollar, who’s wealth is estimated at $27 million, campaign for the jet, the page was taken down but according to Atlanta’s  WXIA-TVDollar’s flock can still donate to his cause due to a cached version of the site still being available.
