Senate To Extend Unemployment Benefits

The U.S. Senate voted to move forward with the bill that would extend unemployment benefits, which expired three days after Christmas. It provides benefits to roughly 1.3 million eligible workers for three months, costing roughly $6.5 billion. The bill now heads to the Senate for a full debate and vote.
